Ghosts wander his thoughts,
tears loosen in his eyes.
Inside he was in his twenties,
flirting with the waitress in
the café, which smelt of gravy.
A short, struggling walk.
Back to the bedsit.
Soon his trousers will return to Oxfam,
A hymn will sing him through the curtains.
