‘Guilty or not guilty?’ he
asked,
as I stood at the Pearly
Gates.
‘You;
who were privileged to live
between World War Two
and Planet’s End.
You;
who consumed,
neglectful of the polar bear
and the billions dying of
starvation.
You;
who cared much,
and delivered little,
how do you plead?’
